With our having a Free Morning, and in expectation of having our evening meal on the Ferry, most of us made good use of our last meal in the hotel: another excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms were cleared by 10 am and the luggage left under the eye of the concierge, giving us the opportunity for a last walk into the centre of St. Helier. The coach picked us up at 1.45 pm and took us to the ferry port. The ferry left St. Helier at 3.30 pm. The journey back was uneventful. Many of us took the opportunity to have a snooze in the coach on the way back, being glad that we could leave the driving to Paul. We got back to Ewyas Harold just before midnight.

Many thanks to Dilys, David & Rosemary for all of their work in arranging and supporting the break but particular thanks & praise must go to Ray whose leadership of the whole thing meant that the rest of us could just sit & lie back, 'go with the flow', and let things happen. The problems & uncertainties with the ferries, and the knock-on effects on the arrangements for coaches, meant that it was not trouble-free for Ray by any means. That the rest of us felt relaxed throughout it all was testament to our well-founded confidence in Ray.
